Born
in Vancouver, John started on piano at the age of 9. Soon after he
started learning flute and saxaphone.
At the age of 15 John began playing bass guitar in rock projects and soon after picked up guitar as well. By the time he was 16, he had performed in a minor Symphonic Orchestra and won many awards for flute. He was also performing saxaphone in a few Jazz bands and then guitar and bass in numerous projects. At 17, the rock scene had captured his interest. In the early 90’s he was a “hired gun” on guitar with a Joe Satriani tribute on the side and has been on stage with some of Canada’s best including players from Mathew Good Band, 5440, Bif Naked, Colin James Band, Gowan, Jeff Healey Band, Trooper, Prism, B.B. King, and many more. In the late 90’s he started the semi-progressive cover band “John Scott Band”, one of the freshest sounding three-piece bands ever. His uniquely diverse and powerful vocals have sent them to the top of the Vancouver cover scene. During 2002-2004 he had sold over 1100 of his self titled CD demo“John Scott- troubled life”. His aspirations are now taking him to new levels with over 200 original songs and a CD in the works. Don’t miss him on a stage near you. . NOTEWORTHY
